Transport – Kansas City, Missouri:
Kansas City is centrally located in the heart of America. It’s easily accessible by interstates and highways. You’ll also find with its central location makes it a quick flight from just about anywhere across the nation.
Plane / Air
Kansas City International Airport (IATA: MCI) is an international airportin serving the Kansas City area and is located in the Northern part of Kansas city. The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority offers hourly service to and from the airport on the #129 bus, called the I-29 Express M-F 5AM-7PM. $1.25. KCI Shuttle offers a shuttle service between the airport and downtown hotels.
Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport (IATA: MKC) is another airport in the area, which serves light planes and corporate jets.
Buses:
Kansas City is serviced by other commercial coach service companies, which arrive and depart from the depot at 10th and Troost.
Megabus, +1 877 462-6342, . Low-cost bus service to KC from Chicago and St. Louis, fares start at $1. Buses arrive and depart from the east side of Grand Blvd. between 2nd and 3rd Sts., next to the 3rd & Grand MetroCenter.

Kansas City Area Transportation Authority
KCATA’s Metro bus system primarily serves Jackson County and parts of Clay and Wyandotte counties. Senior adults ride at half fare with a Medicare card. Call 816/221-0660.

Johnson County Transit’s The JO bus system operates within Johnson County, Kansas, and points in Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas. Call 816/221-0660.
Unified Government Transit

Lawrence Transit System
Lawrence Transit provides transit service in Lawrence, Kan., averaging 1,600 trips per day. In coordination with Johnson County Transit, the K-10 Connector route now connects the University of Kansas in Lawrence with Johnson County Community College and the KU-Edwards Campus in Overland Park. Train
Amtrak serves between 400 and 1,000 passengers a day in Kansas City, making this the 62nd busiest station in the country, with three trains and four daily departures. The terminal is located in Union Station, at 30 West Pershing Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Call 1-800-872-7245 to make reservations.
Amtrak serves KC via the recently renovated and cavernous Union Station, located at Main and Pershing. KC serves as a major stop on the daily Southwest Chief, line which provides service between Chicago and Los Angeles.
Without delays you can expect east-bound trains to leave around 7:25AM and westbound trains to leave around 10:50PM.
Kansas City is also the western terminal for Amtrak’s Missouri River Runner , which provides twice-daily service to and from St. Louis with connecting service to Chicago.
Taxis
Checker Cab is the largest locally owned taxi service. It charters vans, contracts
services, provides paratransit and lift-equipped services. Checker Cab is available 24 hours a

Car
Interstate 435 forms a ring around the city. Notably I-70 goes east to St. Louis and west to Denver. I-35 is a major corridor running northeast and southwest. US Highway 71 runs north and south and forms a midtown expressway, running from the I-435/I-470 interchange, in a northwesterly course toward downtown, where it joins I-29.
